Dan is a lifelong resident of Valdosta. He graduated from Valdosta High School in 1987 where he was a member of the 1986 National Championship Football Team. Upon graduation from Valdosta State University in 1992, he went to work for Tillman Insurance to run the internal underwriting program for Maryland Casualty Company. In 1995 Dan earned his Certified Insurance Counselor designation through the Professional Insurance Agents Association and in 2017 he earned his Agribusiness and Farm Insurance Specialist designation through the International Risk Management Institute.
In his twenty plus years career, Dan has served as President of the Lowndes County Independent Agents, executive board member for the Independent Insurance Agents of Georgia Young Agents Council, member of Columbia Insurance Group’s Producers Council, a board member of the American Red Cross and Azalea City Kiwanis Club.
As co-owner of Tillman Insurance Agency, Dan’s primary focus is business clients and specializes in farm, construction, manufacturing, and trucking.
Dan is married to Amanda Tillman. They have two children, a daughter Emerson and a son McKey. They are members of First Christian Church. In their leisure time they enjoy boating, camping and being outdoors.
